MS Teams - Introduction

This is an updated course as of August 2020.  Changes include how the Meeting process has changed, it now references Desktop, Web and Mobile versions where appropriate, it explains how the layout of Wiki tab has been altered, how creating channels now involves choosing between Standard or Private. It also covers the new process for accessing Meeting Notes, how to raise your hand in meetings and explains any differences when using a feature in the Web or Desktop app.

This course gives an overview of how Teams is used as well as creating and joining teams. It explains how to set up meetings and chat with colleagues.

Estimated Course duration is 2-3 hours. Each lesson takes on average 3-5 minutes to complete.

NOTE Microsoft is continually updating its software, unlike in the past where you could expect a new version every few years. New versions are available regularly with changes.  So, as you are learning Teams keep in mind that some wording may differ but the concept remains the same.

Go to the Learning Tips to view the Quick Reference Card to help you get started.

You can also access our Quick Tip Videos, that only last a few minutes, under Tips and Tricks.
